Indian Academic Slams US Over Spitting Venom Against Iran

New Delhi, March 9, IRNA – Slamming the US over spitting venom against Iran, an Indian academic Friday described that instead Iran, the US is most significant threat to regional as well as global stability. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Professor Basir Ahmed Khan, a former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi said: “Reported General James Mattis and Senator Carl Levin’s accusations were describing the US’s frustration”. General James Mattis Commander of the US Central Command, and Senator Carl Levin, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee has told members of the powerful Senate Armed Services Committee during a Congressional hearing in Washington on Wednesday that Iran remains the single most significant, regional threat to stability and prosperity. Elaborating his statement Basir said that when the US’s sanctions tool turned impotent it started baseless accusations. “Basically all those malicious characteristics described by the US officials were fit for their own government instead a peace-loving country, like Iran”. He asked James Mattis and Carl Levin to turn the pages of the history of a decade and find out which country’s hands are stained with the blood of innocent people. It is the US or Iran. “Due to the US’s hegemonic and imperialistic policies millions of innocent people had lost their lives and thousands rendered homeless in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, so on and so forth. The world has witnessed that it’s the US whose activities, sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly, were detrimental to the peace and stability of the region,” noted Indian academician while rejecting out rightly the US malicious allegations against Iran.. Professor Khan, who had also served as the head of the Department of Islamic Studies at Jamia Hamdard University in New Delhi, said that despite the US’s baseless allegations and imposition of illegal sanctions, Iran is not only progressing in every field but has gained an influential place in international arena. He maintained that today most of the peace-loving countries not only have recognized Iran’s nuclear rights but also are engaged in exploring ways to expand the ties with Iran. These are the clear signals for the US that those countries were not heeding to the US’s baseless accusations. And that has frustrated more to the Obama administration. Replying to the question, why the US has adopted a hostile attitude against Iran, Basir, who is also the President of the Indian Muslim League, said: “For its debilitated economies, the US wanted to capture the resources, oil and natural gas, of West Asia and the Persian Gulf. And Iran is standing as a “Wall of China” in between its wishes”. It is part of the US’ strategic design to eliminate all governments which defy the hegemonic and imperialist game plan, he added. Reacting over to the US official’s statement that all options, including military options, need to remain on the table against Iran, Basir warned the Obama administration not to adopt disastrous policies. Failing with the US will have to face defeat in the dangerous course./end
