Indian Analyst: Iranian Islamic Revolution Brought Major Change In World Politics

New Delhi, Feb. 2, IRNA -- An Indian analyst of the international affairs believes that the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran was the biggest mass movement till the date and it brought a major change in the world politics. In an exclusive interview with IRNA here on Saturday, the content editor of the Sahara Media Group, Ms. Arti Bali said: “The victory of the Islamic Revolution under the strong leadership of the late Ayatollah Khomeini was a very important development which changed the world political scenario from the West to East.” Terming the Islamic Revolution of Iran as unique from a number of angles, she said, the Iranian Islamic Revolution was, in fact, unique from a number of views as it simultaneously challenged the US supper power in the West and the Soviet supper power in the East and condemned the performances of both in suppressing the weak nations all over the world. According to the seasoned world politics analyst, the Islamic Revolution of Iran revived the political Islam in the world and made the people all over the world even in the West study Islam and understand the Islamic laws and views. “At that time, the Islamic Revolution of Iran was something new and surprising phenomena as the people all over the world till the date had not experienced such a revolution and, therefore, they failed to understand its concepts,” Bali added. Terming the Islamic Revolution of Iran as the main factor behind the recent uprisings in some of the Arab countries, she said: “No doubt, the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and formation of an Islamic system in the country brought about a deep change in the mindset of the Muslims including the Arabs on the governing systems and, thus, encouraged them to rethink about the political systems of their countries and formation of Islamic systems there.” Calling Iran as a major power in the Middle-East, Bali said: “Victory of its Islamic Revolution freed Iran from the domination of the West particularly the US and the Islamic Iran is now a major political and military power in not only the Middle-East but also the world as it plays big roles in the regional and international issues.” Appreciating the policy of the Supreme Leader in handling Iran’s nuclear issue, she said: the thought and uncompromising policy of Ayatollah Ali Khamanei on Iran’s nuclear program made the US to recognize Iran’s right for continuing a nuclear program through signing an agreement with Tehran and this is a major victory for Iran./end
