Information Minister receives Representatives Council secretary-general

Manama, Aug. 22 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi has affirmed that accelerating the pace of economic and social development for the citizens and protecting their rights are the cornerstone of cooperation between the executive and legislative branches according to the Constitution and the Government Action Plan. Receiving the Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives Abdulla Khalaf Al-Dosari, the minister said that the kingdom had attained pioneering achievements regarding the citizens' effective participation in the democratic march within the framework of the Reform Project spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Al-Hammadi stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Information Affairs on supporting the legislative and supervisory activities of the elected Council of Representatives through highlighting them in various media outlets, as well as radio and television programmes on the basis of the existing partnership between the two sides on the need to maintain the security and stability of the nation and supporting its development and civilisational achievements. Al-Dosari expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the minister for his interest in enhancing joint cooperation with the Council of Representatives, exchange of visions and expertise on national issues and promoting the role of the media and parliamentary action in achieving the interests of the nation and the citizens.
