Iranˈs Envoy: World Silence More Tragic Than Gaza Bombardment

Rome, July 26, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to Italy Jahanbakhsh Mozafari said world silence on Gaza events is more tragic than land and aerial attacks of the Zionist regime against defenseless people of Gaza. On the occasion of Quds Day, Mozafari, in an interview with Palestine News Agency in Rome (Infopal) on Friday, called the Zionist regime invasion of Gaza Strip as a criminal and inhuman act, adding that world silence before these crimes, is more tragic than vast land and aerial attacks of the Zionist regime against innocent people of Gaza. The Zionists, with baseless pretexts, have created such a big human disaster and in reactions, unfortunately, western countries and many of Muslim and Arab states either keep silent or practically help the Zionist regime. He added that the Zionist regime, with continuation of Gaza blockade and killing women and children, have created an unprecedented tragedy in current century. Iran, by underlining necessity of prompt action of international bodies, especially the UN Security Council in stopping massacre of innocent people, has called on immediately ceasing invasion of Gaza and condemning criminal acts and immediate lifting Gaza blockade for delivering humanitarian aids to the injured and war stricken people. Mozafari continued that Quds city as the most important center for emergence of three main world religions and divine prophets is the concern of all divine religions and is a symbol of solidarity and unity among the pious in confrontation with the Zionist regime. Mozafari said that followers of all religions, including Christianity, Judaism and Islam should condemn barbaric attacks of the Zionist regime against Gaza Strip and massacre of the Palestinians. Italians and supporters of Palestine in recent days have held demonstrations in different cities./end
