Iran’s MPs condemn ‘savage’ killing of Palestinians

TEHRAN,July 14(MNA) – Iranian MPs issued a statement on Sunday condemning the Zionist regime’s ‘savage’ attacks on the Gaza Strip. The statement, which was signed by 210 MPs, announced support for the oppressed Palestinian people. Since last Tuesday the Israeli Air Force has waged a mass military assault on different parts of Gaza. The raids have so far resulted in the killing of at least 170 Palestinians, mostly women and children. According to Palestinian medical sources, above 1000 people have also been injured so far. The “cruel” killing of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which is backed by the U.S. and its other Western allies, has shown “bitter facts” of Palestine’s “bloody history”, the statement reads. Following their defeat in Syria, the U.S., Britain, and the Zionist regime and their regional allies embarked on creating a serious crisis in Iraq with the intention of sowing sectarian clashes in the world of Islam to prevent this huge energy to be used against the Zionist regime, the statement said. The MPs wrote that the Zionist regime and the U.S. should know that this fire of terrorism in Iraq and Syria will also engulf them. The MPs strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s “savage crimes” and urged the secretary generals of the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Inter Parliamentary Union to take immediate action in putting an end to this “cruel killings”. The MPs also called on the Islamic countries in various parts of the world to stage a splendid demonstration on Quds Day. The International Quds Day, which falls on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, is intended to highlight the occupation of the Palestinian lands by Israel and show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation.
