Iran’s Scientific Achievements Admirable: Pak Minister

Paris, Nov 9, IRNA – Pakistani Minister of State for Education, Training and Standards in Higher Education, Muhammad Baligh al-Rahman said that despite West-imposed sanctions, Iran’s accomplishments are very remarkable in recent years. In a meeting with Minister of Science, Research and Technology Reza Faraji-Dana on the sidelines of UNESCO annual summit in Paris, he commented on cultural, religious and lingual commonalities of the two countries. “Iranian culture, especially Persian language, has a deep root in Pakistan, as the language was one of the languages used in the country’s education system several years ago,” he said. Stating that his county is lagging behind the educational programs due to the prevalence of insecurity, he also stressed the need to use Iran’s experience in the filed to compensate the shortcomings facing the country. He also invited Faraj-Dana to visit Pakistan. Faraji-Dana, for his part, referred to Iran’s scientific and cultural achievements in recent years despite oppressive sanctions and said that Iran has prepared the ground for girls’ education, as they account for 60 percent of the total number of university students in the country. Faraji-Dana who left for Paris Wednesday on a two-day visit to deliver a lecture in UNESCO Summit held talks with a large number of his counterparts, discussing issues of mutual interest. He leaves Paris for Tehran tonight./end
