Iran’s scientific progress will neutralize sanctions:Supreme Leader

TEHRAN,July 5(MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that Iran’s scientific progress will neutralize the sanctions against the country. “The enemy is seeking to put pressure on the Iranians’ national dignity through using the tool of sanctions and humiliate the (Iranian) nation, but the continuation of the scientific movement and progress will neutralize this tool,” the Leader said during a meeting with a number of university professors in Tehran on Wednesday afternoon. He also highlighted the importance of “the serious, speedy, and full-scale continuation of the scientific movement,” which will be the main factor in shaping the fate of Iran and the Muslim world in the future. “Efforts and jihadist management by the people who love the progress of the country and the nation are required to achieve this important goal,” he added. He went on to say that one of the main plots of “the front of the enemies of the Islamic system” is to bring the country’s scientific progress to a stop. Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader called on university officials to make serious efforts to prevent scientific centers from becoming a stomping ground for political groups. Turning universities into political clubs is a “lethal poison” for the country’s scientific movement, he said.
