Iran’s Strong Diplomacy Will Clinch Final Deal With World Powers On Its Nuclear Program: Indian Expert

New Delhi, June 21, IRNA – An Indian expert Friday expressed his optimism about reaching a final agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany). ˈI am optimistic that Iran’s strong diplomacy will clinch final deal with world powers on its nuclear program before the expiry of the July 20 deadline,ˈ Professor Basir Ahmed Khan, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi said in an exclusive interview with IRNA. ˈIranˈs broad cooperation, not only with the UN nuclear watchdog IAEA, but also with the world powers has proven that the Persian Gulf nation doesn’t have ambitions to convert its nuclear program to develop nuclear weapons,ˈ he added. He said that this transparency will affix the prospects for resolving the standoff permanently through dialogue and diplomacy. Noting that this is not the first time that Iran has adopted such transparency, Indian academician said: “Historically, Iran has become lone country in the world, permitted IAEA to inspect its nuclear installation and insisted that its nuclear program is for peaceful energy and medical research purposes.ˈ ˈBut, neither the IAEA nor the world powers showed sincerity in finding solution of the standoff. Instead they ignored the cooperation and adopted belligerent attitude,ˈ he added. Professor Basir, appreciating Iran’s diplomacy, further noted that since November last year, they (the world powers), bowing down to Iran’s firm resistance against the unsubstantiated allegations against its peaceful nuclear program, have revisited for the negotiations. “Iran, like earlier instances and without hesitation presented itself for the clarifications and clinched the interim deal,” said the Indian scholar. He went on to say that there must be a dead-end of the wish list of the world powers. “The Persian Gulf nation is fulfilling its international obligations but will never compromise its “legitimate rightsˈ in pursuing its nuclear program,” asserted Indian expert. Basir Khan urged the world powers not to dictate rigid terms, instead welcome Iran’s cooperation and convert the interim deal into a comprehensive permanent deal./end
