Iran ‘wants’ to use Azerspace 1 in television and radio broadcasting

Baku, October 15 (AzerTAc). Iran has expressed its desire to use Azerspace 1 in television and radio broadcasting. Chairman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Ezzatollah Zarghami said his country wanted to organize the broadcasting via Azerbaijan`s communications satellite as he met the country`s Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev in Baku. He also said Iran produces digital transmitter stations, saying they already offered supplying the products to Azerbaijan. Minister Mustafayev said Azerbaijan attached particular emphasis to expanding relations with Iran. “Azerbaijan and Iran are bound together by ties of friendship and history. Our presidents met in Davos, Tehran and Astrakhan this year, and discussed prospects for expanding the bilateral cooperation.” He praised political relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, saying “this opens up ample opportunities for developing the economic bonds”. Mr. Mustafayev said Azerbaijan was ready to deepen cooperation with Iran in a variety of fields, including television and radio broadcasting.
