Iran, 5+1 to resume N-talks by 2 weeks: Araghchi

TEHRAN, Sep. 29 (MNA) – Iran’s senior negotiator has said the Islamic Republic and the 5+1 group will resume new round of nuclear talks by two weeks. Iran’s Deputy-FM for Foreign and International Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi told Kyodo News that the next round of talks on Tehran nuclear program would start in a European city. Araghchi said that there still remained differences on major issues between Iran and the E3/EU3 – US, Russia, China, UK, France and Germany. "We have been able to have a much better understanding in a constructive atmosphere but there are differences on major issues," Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview with Kyodo News. Iran and the Sextet sealed an interim deal on Tehran nuclear issue in November 2013 which expired after six months. In June both sides, failing to reach a final deal, extended the agreement to November 2014. On the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly in New York, Iranian negotiators held meetings with the 5+1 group and discussed ways to see whether they could reduce differences. The New York talks, however, failed to make any breakthrough. The next round of nuclear negotiations will be soon held in a European city, according to Iran's senior negotiator Abbas Araghchi.
