Iran ambassador calls for enhanced Tehran-Accra cooperation

Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA – Iranian ambassador to Ghana on Wednesday stressed the need for promoting political and economic cooperation between the two countries. He made the remarks in a meeting with Ghanian Parliament Speaker Edward Doe Adjaho. The two officials discussed bilateral political and parliamentary ties. Adjaho, for his part, referred to increasing ties and called for exchanging high-ranking parliamentary delegations by the two countries. He also underlined significance of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Pointing to peaceful nature of Iran nuclear program, the speaker said that the right to use nuclear energy for civilian utility has been enshrined by Non-Proliferation Treaty. The Iranian ambassador said that recent diplomatic shuttle by the two countries' senior officials would help promote bilateral ties./end
