Iran Army Chief Warns US Carrier Not To Return To Persian Gulf

Chabahar, Sistan and Baluchestan Prov, Jan 4, IRNA – Commander of Iran’s Army Major General Ataollah Salehi on Tuesday warned the US aircraft carrier not to return to the Persian Gulf region. “The Islamic Republic will not repeat its warning,” stressed Salehi while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the military march held in Iran’s southern waters. The US carrier, patrolling the area of naval drills, was identified by an Iranian warplane. Salehi added that the country will not adopt any irrational move but it is ready to severely react against any threat. He also said that the recent naval drills were aimed at maintaining the country's strength and safe guarding the national interests. Iran’s naval drills, which concluded Monday evening, began in the Hormuz Strait, including waters in the Sea of Oman and free waters in the Indian Ocean up to Gulf of Aden./end
