Iran Awaiting Time For Talks, Venue On Nuclear Issue

Tehran, Jan 4, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday that Iran is waiting for a proposal from EU foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, to set the venue and time for fresh talks on the nuclear issue. After receiving letter from Ms Ashton, Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili will review her proposals, said Ramin Mehmanparast during his weekly press briefing. Latest round of negotiations between Iran and G5+1 (US, UK, France, Russia and China plus Germany) were held in Istanbul, Turkey, late January 2011. Asked about the arrest of three Iranian border guards by the Pakistani troops, Mehmanparast said the country has not received any exact information about the issue. He added Iran solves its border problems with neighboring countries through dialog. About the situation of seven Iranian technicians specialized in construction of combined-cycle power plants who were kidnapped in Syria, Mehmanparast said the Islamic Republic of Iran is following up the case to release them. According to the latest news about the incident, all those who were abducted are in good health, said the foreign ministry spokesman. The Iranian technicians and engineers were kidnapped in the border city of Homs, Syria.
