Iran, Azerbaijan Call For Expansion Of Parliamentary Ties

Baku, June 22, IRNA – Members of Iran-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group and Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pakaeen in a meeting here Saturday emphasized the need for expansion of parliamentary cooperation. Pakaeen underlined that the parliaments of the two countries play pivotal role in broadening bilateral relations between the two nations. He also invited members of womenˈs fraction of the Azeri parliament to travel to Iran to become familiar with their Iranian counterparts. Deputy head of Iran-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Aldar Ebrahimov, for his part, asked for enhancement of parliamentary ties between the two countries. Ebrahimov also congratulated Iran on holding a glorious presidential election on June 14 leading to victory of Hassan Rohani and powerful advancement of Iranian national football team to World Cup 2014 in Brazil./end
