Iran-Benin Presidents Stress Need To Restructure Global Governing System

Tehran, April 16, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Beninese counterpart Yayi Boni underlined the need to restructure global governing system international relations to establish peace, security and justice in the world. Ahmadinejad said that developing ties with the African states is one of the priorities of Iranˈs foreign policy. ˈIran and Benin have friendly and cordial ties and are in the same front,ˈ he noted. President Ahmadinejad said that the two countries boast various capacities in different areas of economy, politics and culture, adding that activating the potentials will benefit both nations and the region. Africa boasts of rich resources and Iran stands by the continent in a bid to help them take step on the path to progress, Ahmadinejad said. Underlining the constructive role of Benin in Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), Iranian president further stated that Iran and Benin share common ideals and objectives. The world need a fair order based on common principles and ideals, he said, adding that the nations can help establish the principles standing by each other. Boni, for his part, expressed pleasure with Ahmadinejadˈs visit to Benin and described the trip as significant.
