Iran, Burundi Discuss Expansion Of Mutual Ties

Tehran, Feb 17, IRNA - Burundiˈs new Ambassador to Tehran Omar Nazrin met on Sunday with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and submitted the copy of his credentials to him. In the meeting, Zarif referred to the good record of relations between Iran and Burundi and said Tehran attaches significant importance to expansion of relations and cooperation with Africa and also lauds the active role of Burundi at international gatherings and in the African Union. Referring to suitable grounds for expansion of relations between the two countries, Zarif said Burundi is eager to welcome Iranˈs private sector in implementing its development projects. He wished success of the new Burundi ambassador during his tenure in Iran. Rendering humanitarian relief aid to drought stricken people in Burundi is of prime importance, Zarif said. The new Burundiˈs ambassador, for his part, expressed satisfaction with his presence in Iran and called for expansion of all-out relations and cooperation between the two countries. He also lauded Iranˈs active diplomacy and the countryˈs significant achievements at international forums./end
