Iran Can Play Key Role To Resolve World Problems: Pakistani Politician

Islamabad, Sept 29, IRNA -- A Pakistani politician said on Friday that Iran can play an important role in finding solutions to world problems, but unfortunately western states are creating hurdles in the way of the Islamic Republic. Speaking to IRNA, Shafqat Mahmood, information secretary of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) strongly condemned western double standards on human rights. Answering a question, he said that capitalism is facing lots of difficulties. 'No doubt that the capitalism needs to be regularized,' said the political leader. The analyst said that unfortunately western states led by US and Zionist regime are creating hurdles in the way of Iran. He said that puppet governments of the US in the Middle East are also forwarding western agendas. He is of the opinion that a conspiracy to isolate Iran will fail. PTI leader said that Iran is the head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) which makes the Islamic Republic a powerful country. Expressing his views, former senator said that the US which claims to be the champion of human rights is responsible for human rights abuses across the world. 'They are violating human rights in every part of the world,' he said. Shafqat Mahmood said that moral values have no significance for western societies, but he also pointed out that some Muslim countries are hypocrite in their policies. Veteran Pakistani columnist said that sanctions have made Iran self-sufficient. 'They are progressing in all fields irrespective of western curbs,' Shafqat Mahmood pointed out. 'Sanctions have become a golden opportunity for Iran,' he added. Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) leader said that pressure on Iran's nuclear program is unjustified. 'We strongly condemn all kinds of sanctions against Iran,' said the intellectual./end
