Iran, China to hold first joint fleet drill

TEHRAN, Sep. 24 (MNA) – Iran’s Army Navy Commander-in-Chief has said the Navy will hold the 1st joint fleet exercise with China in Iranian waters. Gen. Habibollah Sayyari on Tuesday described the navy as an effective means in political, economic, social and cultural aspects. “These are many components of national power in the country and the navy plays special roles in all fields,” said Gen. Sayyari. He pointed to the Leader‘s remarks who said that Iran’s navy presence in international waters had secured trade ships and could bring Islamic culture to the countries worldwide. Sayyari said the navy designed high-profile naval equipment and had a permanent presence in international waters. A Chinese flotilla harbored on Iranian coastal city of Bandar Abbas to hold a joint drill with Iranian fleet before departure.
