Iran Concerned About Bloodshed In Mali, Denounces French Air Raids

Tehran, Jan 16, IRNA – The Islamic Republic of Iran is concerned about bloodshed in Mali, denouncing French air raids on the Muslim nation, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Tuesday. "Iran is worried about the fate of those trapped in the scene of conflict which forced them to flee their homes in desperation." He told reporters in his weekly press briefing that France's military intervention in Mali is unwarranted adding that air raids in a Muslim country will not help resolve national crisis in Mali. "We call for restoration of peace and stability in the African continent. Iran believes that the problems of this continent should be resolved by the African countries themselves in the context of mutual cooperation," he said. The Islamic republic of Iran its ready to help resolve the issue and render humanitarian relief aid to the people in Mali, he said./end
