Iran Critical Of US Presidents War Rhetoric

Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA – Iran is criticalof the US President Barack Obama war rhetoric in the context of TV interview which he revealed correspondence with new Iranian president. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham protested against repetition of war rhetoric by President Obama when he was explaining his outreach to President Rohani in interview with ABC news. Afkham said that the war rhetoric is the mood of President Obama's interview indicating that the US foreign policy is captive of influential lobbies directing the US Administration and the think-tanks of the United States. She said resort to military choice is aimed merely to secure interests of the lobbies at the expense of violation of international law, humanitarian principles, the UN charter and misleading the public opinion. She hoped that the US Administration would take lessons from unsuccessful experience of former US presidents confrontation against Iranians, admitting that use of the literature of threat against the Islamic Republic of Iran would have the least impact on the determination of Iranian government and nation to restore their legitimate nuclear rights, including enrichment inside the country enshrined by Non-Proliferation Treaty. She pointed out that the US should know that it can engage with Iran only with language of respect. She said the International Atomic Energy Agency has repeatedly emphasized that there is no diversion from civilian path in Iranian nuclear program. “President Hassan Rohani made it clear that Iran cannot tolerate prolongation of nuclear talks, believing that in case of goodwill on the other party, a suitable solution can be found soon.”/end
