Iran Daily expresses hope for final n-deal

Tehran, Nov 22, IRNA - 'Iran Daily' on Saturday lauded the stand of Iranian officials who have adopted a sensible approach to resolve the nuclear issue. This approach will allow the Iranian nation to overcome an unwarranted crisis and preserve its nuclear rights, added the English-language paper in its Opinion column. Elucidating on the new round of nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 underway in Vienna, the paper underscored that a win-win game requires both sides to make concessions so that they can attain something of more importance. Last year, Iran and the P5+1 arrived at an interim deal in Geneva based on this approach, it recalled. Under the Geneva agreement, Iran continued its uranium enrichment program, though limited to the level of five percent purity. This was the most important part of that deal which first faced opposition from the sextet. Iran seeks to maintain its enrichment program at an industrial level and parallel to its needs so that it would have enough nuclear fuel for its plants when its deal with Russia over supplying fuel rods expires five years later. Now Iran is trying to convince the P5+1, especially the US, to scrap all sanctions imposed on it over its nuclear work and stresses that no accord will be signed if this demand is not met. Both sides are determined to address all thorny issues and leave nothing unresolved under a final deal. This would prevent attempts by radical groups to hamper the implementation of a possible deal. Iran is currently in a good situation despite political and economic pressure exerted by Western powers over its nuclear activities. This is while the US, as the major member of the P5+1, is grappling with certain issues. US President Barack Obama is on the one hand under pressure from the Republicans in the Congress and on the other desperately needs to make a deal with Iran due to the ISIL crisis in the Middle East region. Therefore, he is trying to do so before the November 24 deadline, noted the daily. The incumbent government believes that people should not come under tremendous pressure for the sake of having nuclear know-how. The anti-Iran sanctions, which came into effect in recent years over the nuclear drive, could have never been slapped if the then Iranian negotiating team had adopted a more realistic approach and the hawks in Washington had not yielded to the pressures of the Jewish lobby and Israel./end
