Iran Defending Its Vital Interests In Vienna Talks: Russian Expert

Moscow, July 13, IRNA – The Head of the Center for Contemporary Iran Studies in Russia, Recep Safarov, said on Saturday that Iran is defending its vital interests in nuclear talks with the West in Vienna and will never retreat from its principled stand. Speaking during a press conference in Moscow, Safarov said that many people around the world are looking forward to a settlement to the dispute over Iranˈs nuclear program as one of the most complicated international issues. Many are still optimistic about a final deal between Iran and the six governments, less than 10 days remaining, he said in a reference to July 20 deadline set by the two sides for reaching a comprehensive agreement. He said that signing a deal by July 20 seems reasonable, since everybody is tired with long negotiations over the nuclear dispute. He said that the economy of many countries is being harmed because they cannot cooperate with Iran due to Western sanctions on the country. Safarov said the European countries that used to import a significant part of their required oil from Iran, have been most suffered by the sanctions./end
