Iran Defense Strategy Aims Deterrence: MP

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA – Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said that Iranian defense strategy aims deterrence. Addressing the introduction ceremony of the new deputy defense minister for parliamentary affairs, he said that the strategy of defense ministry aims deterrence. After of a lapse of three decades since the victory of the Islamic Revolution 1979 and under the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, great achievements have been made in national defense industry. Boroujerdi said that today Iran enjoys such a position in the region and the world that no power dares attack it. Executed Iraqi dictator attacked Iran in early days of victory of the Islamic Revolution because of his miscalculations about Iranian internal situation, he said, noting that he though that Iran would not manage to defend itself./end
