Iran Demands IAEA Supervise Zionist Regime's Nuclear Programs

New York, Sept 30, IRNA – Iran's FM Ali Akbar Salehi has requested the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to supervise the Zionist regime's nuclear programs. Salehi made the remarks in a high profile meeting on the campaign against nuclear terrorism in the United Nations headquarters. During the meeting, Salehi, on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) member states, urged the Zionist regime to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty and accept the IAEA supervision over its nuclear facilities. Iran is the current NAM president. He further stressed the basic NAM belief in full nuclear disarmament as the highest priority of all countries of the world. Salehi also voiced NAM's concern about the slow pace of international disarmament and lack of any progress in total elimination of nuclear arms by the governments which own atomic weapons. He said it was highly important for NAM to ensure lack of access of non-governmental agents to weapons of mass destruction. Elsewhere in his speech, Salehi called on all UN member states to further reinforce their national actions to hinder terrorists' access to mass killing weapons and to the material and technology relevant to such activities./end
