Iran, Denmark To Cooperate On Fight Against Administrative Corruption

Berlin, Aug 30, IRNA – Iran and Denmark have agreed to cooperate on fight against administrative and economic corruption, it was reported on Saturday. The agreement was signed at the end of a visit to Denmark by Chairman of the State Inspectorate Organization of Iran Naser Seraj in a meeting with Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman Jørgen Steen Sørensen. The Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman is a law graduate elected by the Danish Parliament, the Folketing, to investigate complaints about the public administration. Seraj was in Copenhagen on a five-day visit which ended Friday night. The visit was made upon an invitation by Sorensen. The agreement obliged Tehran and Copenhagen to introduce a representative each to coordinate bilateral cooperation on fight against economic and administrative corruption. The representatives should facilitate holding training courses and exchange of expert delegations between the two capitals on fight against economic and administrative corruption. It was also agreed that a Danish parliamentary delegation would visit Iran soon to prepare the grounds for implementation of the agreement. While in Copenhagen, Seraj and his entourage toured the Danish Parliament and its 36 committees, particularly its financial committee. Denmarkˈs long history of successful fight against administrative and economic corruption has placed the country atop of the world states./end
