Iran Dismisses UAE Statement On Routine Visit Of Officials To Three Iranian Islands

Tehran, Feb 7, IRNA – Iran on Wednesday dismissed United Arab Emirates statement about routine visit of Iranian officials to three Iranian Islands in the Persian Gulf. Rapporteur of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Majlis Hossein Naghavi said that visit of Iranian officials and lawmakers to the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf has nothing to do with other countries. He made the remarks in response to illogical remarks by some UAE officials. The three islands are inseparable parts of Iran’s soil and issues regarding them have nothing to do with other countries, he said. He added that Iranian officials visit the three Iranian islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Mussa just as they visit other parts of Iranian territory. Naghavi said that members of parliament have planned to visit the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf on the sidelines of Persian Gulf National Conference which is due to be held in the port city of Bandar Abbas./end
