Iran Embassy Raps Turkish Daily Bugün For Publishing Anti-Iran Article

Ankara, June 29, IRNA – Iranian Embassy in Turkey forwarded a letter to Turkish daily ˈBugünˈ on Thursday to protest publishing anti-Iran article. Addressing the head of Bugün editorial board, the letter protested to the daily for publishing provocative article about Iran-Turkey agreement on educational cooperation. Bugün daily on its Tuesday edition released a provocative article on educational protocol signed between Iran and Turkey which is totally fabricated, read the letter. Signing educational and scientific memorandum of understanding is among natural practice between countries seeking to broaden scientific and cultural cooperation, underlined the protesting letter. Bugün in its article wrote that based on the new protocol signed on expansion of educational cooperation between Iran and Turkey, the two sides agreed to establish a joint venture university and the ground for exchange of high school students between the two countries will be prepared. The article pointed out that the opponents to this protocol believe that Iran pursues clandestine goals through implementing the cultural agreement. Turkish national education ministry declared that the protocol was signed last year and signing of such protocol with different countries is quite natural. Turkey has inked such protocol with over 50 countries and all had approval of the countryˈs foreign ministry, said Turkish minister of national education. Analysts believe that those raising such provocative issues try to sabotage good relations between Iran and Turkey./end
