Iran Envoy: Japan Keen To Consolidate Ties With Iran

Tehran, Sept 11, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Tokyo Reza Nazar Ahari said on Tuesday that dispatch of Japanese special envoy to Tehran indicates Japan is willing to broaden and consolidate relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. He told IRNA that relations between the two countries are deeply-rooted and based on mutual understanding. The Japanese envoy Masahiko Komura conveyed special message from Japanese premier Shinzo Abe for President Hassan Rohani. Komura conferred with President Hassan Rohani, Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif along with a number of high ranking officials on issues of mutual interests as well as regional and global developments. He expressed the hope that current relations between Iran and Japan to remain safe and sound from unilateral sanctions imposed by Washington and volume of Iran-Japan trade to further increase. The ambassador said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the reliable resources for supply of crude oil to Japan; adding that the trend will continue in the future. Nazar-Ahari said that Iran hopes that the unilateral sanctions imposed by the western governments never harm historical and friendly relations between Iran and Japan. Japan as the first victims of nuclear bombs in the world and the Islamic Republic of Iran the first victim of chemical weapons can cooperate to establish peace and stability in the world, the ambassador said./end
