Iran Envoy Urges Expansion Of Ties With Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, June 29, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to Malaysia Mohammad Jalal Firouznia here on Saturday called for enhancement of bilateral ties as well as settlement of problems of Iranian nationals residing in this country. Firouznia made the remark in a meeting with Malaysian Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi During the meeting, he called for cooperation of Malaysian immigration office and police to resolve the existing problems facing Iranian prisoners in this country. The Iranian envoy also underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation in fight against smuggle of narcotic drugs. He also voiced readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to sign and help implement the mutual agreements in the field of criminals extradition. Zahid Hamidi, for his part, said Kuala Lumpur is ready to follow up the signed agreements with Tehran./end
