Iran Envoy Urges UN To Investigate Zionist Regime Airstrikes On Syria

New York, May 7, IRNA – Iran’s Permanent envoy to the United Nations Mohammad Khazaei has urged the UN to explore the recent Zionist regimeˈs airstrikes on Syria from all aspects. In a letter recently sent to the UN Security Council chief, Khazaei strongly condemned the Zionist regimeˈs air aggressions against Syria and said the attacks were provoking and unjustifiable. He stressed the Zionist regime had to stand accountable to its illegal acts. The Iranian envoy added Tehran believed such criminal and irresponsible acts should be condemned by the whole international community, especially by the UN and other related organizations. Khazaei noted that the aggressions were clear violation of the international regulations including principles of the UN Charter which bans use of force against the international bodyˈs member states. Nothing could ever justify the use of force and aggressions against a sovereign country, Khazaei said. He stressed that the aggressor should accept the responsibility for the outcomes of its illegal act which has already endangered global peace and security. Khazaei said the Zionist regimeˈs attacks have clearly caused serious tensions in the region and created instability in the Middle East./end
