Iran, Fiji sign agreement on diplomatic relations

Iran, Aug 31, IRNA – Fiji Foreign Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola said on Friday that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Fiji signed an agreement on initiation of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Tehran, he said the agreement signed in presence of Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi. The agreement will open a new chapter on expansion of relations and economic cooperation between the two countries, he said. He said that there are good grounds for expansion of cooperation in agriculture, education and tourism between the two countries. The 16th NAM Summit was inaugurated here Thursday with a speech by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
