Iran FM Calls For Further Expansion Of Iran-Georgia Ties

Tehran, April 7, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said in Tehran on Sunday that Iran and Georgia enjoy many capacities for all-out expansion of relations. Zarif told Georgiaˈs Ambassador to Iran Ioseb Chakhvashvili that there are vast grounds available for expansion of relations in commercial and economic domains and for better parliamentary ties. Receiving a copy of Chakhvashviliˈs credentials, Zarif underlined removal of certain impediments to expansion of bilateral commercial ties. He hoped that through ceaseless efforts and use of existing capacities of the two countries, bilateral ties will further expand. The Georgian diplomat, for his part, provided Zarif with a report on Georgiaˈs relations with Iran at bilateral, regional and international levels. He said he was interested in Persian language and the Iranian peopleˈs culture. ˈThe people and government of Georgia are happy with progress and achievements of Iran in different spheres and Tbilisi wants all-out expansion of relations with Tehran.ˈ He also referred to large volume of trade and commercial exchanges between Iran and Georgia and said he will do his best for further promotion of Tehran-Tbilisi relations./end
