Iran FM Departs For Pakistan

Tehran, Nov 21, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi departed for Pakistan on Tuesday to attend the 15th ministerial meeting of D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization. He is to deliver a speech in the meeting as well as to confer with a number of participating officials. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, on the sidelines of the meeting, Salehi will have a trilateral meeting with counterparts from Turkey and Egypt about Syria. D-8 Group was established on June 15, 1997 by Istanbul declaration. Members of the group are Muslim developing countries. The group is among regional pacts to create stronger economic relations between developing Islamic states. The meeting is held once in 2 years and its secretariat is located in Istanbul./end
