Iran FM, Egyptian Counterpart Talk On Phone

Tehran, July 23, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Nabil Fahmy reviewed issues of mutual interest. During the conversation, Salehi expressed hope that all political groups and elites in Egypt would move towards national unity and solidarity. Salehi further referred to Egypt's influential role in the region, and said he was assured that the Egyptian nation would pass through the current crisis successfully. He also hoped that Tehran and Cairo would help settle the issue of Palestine and the Syrian crisis. Egyptian foreign minister, too, expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral talks, hoping the two would soon hold negotiations on major regional developments./end
