Iran FM Slams Brutal Attack On Prominent Egyptian Shia Clericˈs Home

Tehran, June 25, IRNA - Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Kamel Amr on Tuesday lambasted the brutal attack on the Prominent Egyptian Shia cleric, Sheikh Hassan Shehataˈs home. Salehi underlined that certain Egyptian parties are attempting to destabilize the current situation in the country. He voiced Tehranˈs willingness to cooperate in holding a four-party talks on Syria initiated by Egypt in the presence of Turkish, Saudi Arabia and Iranian foreign ministers. Kamel Amr, for his part, welcomed holding a fourfold talks and a national dialog to find a diplomatic way out of the Syrian crisis as soon as possible. Prominent Egyptian Shia cleric and four of his devotees have been killed in a brutal attack carried out by extremists in Giza province near Cairo on June 24. Dozens of others who were at Sheikh Shehata’s house were also injured./end
