Iran Gaining Top Rank In Standardization Of Products Among ECO Members

Arak, Markazi Prov., Oct 27, IRNA – Deputy head of Iranian National Standards Organization, Vahid Marandi Moghadam, said on Saturday that Iran ranks first in standardization of products among the Economic Cooperation Organization member states. Moghadam told a seminar to appreciate exemplary standard units in Markazi Province, that Iran has received top rank in standardization among the ECO states thanks to serious attention to upgrading quality of products. He said Iran has also gained the second rank in standardization among the Muslim states and is working to implement the 1404 Horizon Objectives to gain top rank in standardization in the Middle East. He added that in terms of international standards Iran has been able to receive the 29th rank and presence in more than 200 world ISO standard technical committees as observer and activity of six ISO standard secretariats in Iran testify Iranian higher objectives for quality promotion of commodities and services. He noted that promotion of Iran’s status in international standard system would have many benefits for the country. Iran’s influential presence in the Halal Standards Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) encouraged presentation of more than 130 articles, he said. Had it not been for Iran’s wise presence in such a level in the OIC Halal Committee, the indices for Islamic style sacrificing in accordance with the Islamic jurisprudence would have lost their importance and Iranian producers would have been facing problems and limitations in exports, he said./end
