Iran has new views to present to the world about human rights: Iranian FM

TEHRAN,June 25(MNA) – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that Iran should leave no excuse for the West on issues related to human rights and should response to “lies and fabrications” made about the Islamic Republic’s human rights record. Zarif also called human rights an important issue and said Iran has new views to present about human rights to the world. “The issue of human rights is among important subjects in which Iran has new views to present at the international stage,” the chief diplomat said on the sidelines of a meeting arranged by the Judiciary human rights office in Tehran. He added prior to the 2013 presidential election in Iran the Supreme Leader used the term haqonas (the right of the people) which was a new lexicon to the international human rights definition. The Islamic Republic of Iran is a system based on Islamic teachings and it pursues civil rights as human rights at the international stage, he added. --------‘Zarif optimistic about future nuclear talks’ A member of the central council of principlist faction says Foreign Minister Zarif had told a general meeting of the faction on Tuesday that he was optimistic about nuclear talks with major powers in the coming days. “In the meeting the foreign minister presented a report about the process of the progress of nuclear talks to members of the faction,” Hossein Garousi told . The negotiations have been going through ups and downs but despite pressure by the Zionists the negotiations are “proceeding well”, he added.
