Iran has no demands beyond NPT, Ahmadinejad tells Hatoyama

TEHRAN, April 9 (MNA) - Iran has no demands beyond the framework of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama on Sunday. Ahmadinejad also said that all Iran’s nuclear activities are under supervision of the IAEA, adding that Iran has so far presented good proposals for cooperation on the purchase of 20 percent enriched uranium, uranium enrichment, and completion of nuclear power plants, but the West has not accepted them and has not been determined to help resolve Iran’s nuclear issue. “But, anyway, Iran has some practical proposals for the next round of talks,” he said. Elsewhere in his remarks, Ahmadinejad highlighted the importance of cooperation between Tehran and Tokyo to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.
