Iran Has Summoned Yemen Charge D’affaires Twice: Spokesman

Tehran, Aug 13, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi said Iran has summoned the Yemeni charge d’affaires twice so far to follow up the case of the Iranian diplomat kidnapped in that country. Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing on Tuesday, he stressed that his ministry is closely following up the case of an Iranian embassy attaché in Yemen who was kidnapped by terrorist groups. He noted that the Yemeni government is responsible for the safety of the kidnapped member of the Iranian embassy. The spokesman was also asked to comment on the reports in some Turkish media about Ankara’s appeal for Tehran to help Turkey tackle the case of its two kidnapped pilots in Lebanon. He confirmed that the Turkish foreign minister had had a telephone contact with his Iranian counterpart asking him to help settle the case./end
