Iran hopes Pakistan will deliver arrested terrorists to Tehran soon

Islamabad, April 17, IRNA – An Iranian deputy interior minister here on Friday expressed hope that Pakistan will extradite the arrested members of the terrorist group involved in assassination of Iranian border guards to Iranian judiciary officials quickly. Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Disciplinary Affairs Hossein Zolfaqari said at the end of the 8th Joint Security Session of Iran and Pakistan in Islamabad that the extradition of criminals was one of the most important topics of discussion during that two-day meeting. 'It was emphasized that the extradition of criminals should be accelerated and we hope Islamabad will take practical steps in that direction soon, beginning with forwarding some arrested members of the terrorist group who have been involved in assassination of the Iranian border guards to Iranian judiciary officials,' said Zolfaqari. He said that comprehensive talks were made in the security meeting, whose axes included control, containment and uprooting terrorism, combat against drug trafficking, blocking the paths for illegal cross-border traffic, and further activation of border markets, which led to the signing of a 21 article document. According to the newly signed document, the Iranian and Pakistani 2nd rank border guars will meet once every two months and the top rank border guards once every three months regularly to review the border issues and exchange information as fast as possible.
