Iran-IAEA Hold Expert-level Talks

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA – Experts from Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency held a meeting on Monday to discuss remaining issues over Iran’s nuclear program. The meeting was jointly presided over by Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA, Reza Najafi and IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Safeguards, Tero Varjoranta. The meeting came as head of Iranˈs Atomic Energy Organization, Ali-Akbar Salehi and IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano announced in a joint statement earlier in the day that Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has allowed inspectors of the UN nuclear watchdog to visit Arak heavy-water reactor and Gachin uranium mine in southern city of Bandar Abbas. This is the third round of talks between Tehran and the IAEA since the new Iranian government came to power. The two sides announced they have agreed to continue their talks within three months beginning from today based on the joint statement which has been signed by both sides./end
