Iran-IAEA Representatives Wraps Up 1st Day Of Negotiations On Outstanding Issues

Vienna, May 15, IRNA – Representatives of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency wound up the first day of negotiations on Monday aimed at removing outstanding issues about Iranian nuclear program. The negotiations were held at Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna. Iranian Representative to IAEA, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, and IAEA Deputy Director General in charge of the agency’s Safeguards Department Herman Nackaerts led delegations from the two parties. Nackaerts declined to comment on the outcome of the negotiations. He told reporters in the morning that the agency is going ahead with negotiations with positive and constructive view. He said that the agency is willing to reach a settlement on the outstanding issues about Iranian nuclear program. Nackaerts said that the negotiations will be held in the context of Non-Proliferation Treaty./end
