Iran, Iraq to boost scientific cooperation

TEHRAN, Feb. 25 (MNA) – In a meeting with University of Tehran acting administrator, Iraqi Minister of Education called for expansion of scientific and technological cooperation and exchange of students and professors. On the sidelines of the ministerial conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on science and technology, Hussain Al-Shahristani, Iraqi Minister of Education met and talked with Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, the Acting Administrator of University of Tehran. Iraqi official, regarding the friendly close ties of Iran and Iraq, demanded further expansion of scientific and technological cooperation, exchange of students and professors as well as carrying out joint projects particularly on fields of water and environment. Nili Ahmadabadi, meanwhile, announced the readiness of Tehran University to expand the cooperation. It was decided in the meeting that Iraqi cultural and scientific envoy pay visit to University of Tehran in order to follow up the agreed issues. Acting Administrator of UT also held meetings with Education Ministers of Somali, Serbia and Belarus.
