Iran, Iraq Call For Enhancing All-out Ties

Tehran, May 20, IRNA - Visiting Chairman of Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council Medhat al-Mahmoud and Prosecutor General Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei discussed promotion of bilateral cooperation in a meeting held here on Tuesday. Both sides also called for enhancement of all-out ties between Tehran and Baghdad. Al-Mahmoud is to hold talks with Member of Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi later on Tuesday. The senior Iraqi official heading a delegation arrived in Tehran on May 17 (Saturday) and held separate meetings with a number of senior Iranian officials including President Hassan Rouhani, Justice Minister Mostafa Pour Mohammadi, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani. He will end his visit to Tehran on Wednesday (May 21)./end
