Iran IRGC Official: Israel Will Not Achieve Goals By Committing Crimes

Ahvaz, Nov 17, IRNA – Deputy Commander of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps Brigadier General Hossein Salami condemning massacre of defenseless Palestinians said here Friday Zionist regime would achieve none of its notorious objectives by committing these crimes. Salami made the comment in a ceremony making the liberation of the southern city of Susangerd from the occupation of Saddam's invading forces at a gathering of Dasht-e Azadegan moving tribes, revered families of martyrs, clergies, and a number of Islamic Republic of Iran Army (IRIA) and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IRGC top commander added, 'The combatant people of Palestine would more resolute than the past, keep on their brave resistance.' He added that the Palestinians and Hamas combatants would undoubtedly give a crushing response to the usurper, criminal Zionist regime. Referring to the comprehensive plot hatched by the global oppression against the Islamic Revolution, Salami said that the enemy had assumed that resorting to a cultural onslaught and its soft war it would manage to achieve its goals, ignorant about the fact that the Iranian nation, relying on Divine Power of God, and influenced by the message of Imam Hussain (P), are the faithful followers of the Supreme Leader, and well capable of defending the values of the Islamic Revolution.' He added, 'Today, the Islamic Iran, and particularly the Iranian armed forces, are mightily capable of dismantling any plot hatched against the Islamic Revolution.' People in different parts of the world staged demonstrations to condemn Israel's crimes against the Palestinians, specially the ongoing Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip. Rallies were held in London, New York City, Paris, Sydney, Beirut and Cairo against the ongoing assault by the Israel on the besieged Gaza Strip. In New York, protesters gathered outside the Israeli Consulate on Thursday, calling for an immediate end to the attacks on Palestinians. The protesters then marched to the Times Square and called on the US administration to stop supporting the Israeli regime. A similar demonstration was held in the French capital, with pro-Palestine activists protesting near the Ministry of Justice and asking the government to clarify its stance on Israel's deadly offensive. Protesters chanted anti-Israel slogans while waving Palestinian flags. In Lebanon, the protesters held a demonstration outside the UN headquarters in Beirut, condemning the silence of the West over the death of civilians in Gaza. The angry protesters also asked the international community to take action to stop the Israeli aggression. Meanwhile, activists in Australia gathered outside the Max Brenner Chocolate Shop Chain in Parramata district of Sydney, as the chain is affiliated with Israel's second largest food and beverage company, Strauss Group, which provides Israeli army units with the so-called 'Care Packages.' In Egypt, hundreds of Egyptians demonstrated in Cairo to protest the recent wave of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. Protesters also called on President Mohammad Mursi to sever ties with the Tel Aviv regime. Hundred of thousands of Iranians all across the country staged demonstrations on Friday to protest against Israel's attacks on the oppressed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Iranians across the country, including in the capital Tehran, held massive anti-Israel rallies on Friday to condemn new Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip. Protesters unanimously condemned Zionists' crimes in the Palestinian occupied lands. The people carrying placards chanted 'Down with the US' and 'Down with the Israel' and other anti-Zionist slogans. They voiced the Iranian nation's readiness to defend the ideals of Palestine and remove the cancerous tumor from the face of the world. People also protested at the silence of the international community and the so-called advocates of the human rights against the crimes committed in the occupied lands. Over 23 people have been killed and more than 250 others injured in the new wave of Israeli attacks. Assaults on Gaza started on Wednesday and the Israeli military launched a series of new air and sea attacks against the Palestinians in the coastal territory./end
