Iran, Japan to cooperate in vaccine production

TEHRAN, Feb. 25 (MNA) – Iran’s minister of health is in a three-day visit to Japan to extend cooperation in university professor and student exchange and other scientific cooperation. Seyed Hassan Hashemi visited Japan’s National Center for Global Health and Medicine. His proposal on cooperation with Japan in producing vaccines in a joint project was welcomed by Japanese authorities. According to the proposal, Iran and Japan will hold in several sessions to address the grounds for joint cooperation to produce vaccine. Hashemi’s visit to Japan reportedly has had achievements; Iran and Japan will extend cooperation on health and medicine. Both ministers of health believed that holding joint scientific and specialist meetings would help share knowledge and experiences in medicine. Cooperation in treatment of diseases, medical education, and medical research were also emphasized by both ministers. Hashemi also visited the head of Japan’s Foreign Trade Organization and director of Japan’s Peace Foundation, and delivered a speech in Iran-Japan Medical Trade Conference. Hashemi also paid visits to few medical facilities manufacturing companies. He will depart for Tehran on Wednesday, ending his three-day visit.
