Iran lawmakers support police, security forces

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian lawmakers through a statement on Sunday threw support for measures taken by the police and security forces to settle the recent unrest across the country. The statement issued by 233 members of the parliament was read out at the Majlis (Parliament). Majlis will make use of all its supervision tools to examine different aspects of the recent events across the country, find out the reasons behind them, present strategies for dealing with the issues and make all incidents become transparent, the statement stressed. The Parliament is also following strategies for preventing the incidents from happening again. Strongly condemning the recent destructive moves and sabotage, the lawmakers stressed the need to separate the protestors from the vandals. Those who signed the statement appreciated the police and security forces for their patience in managing the unrest across the country and establishing security once again. Expressing sympathy with the family members of the security forces killed during the recent turmoil, the lawmakers called for severe punishment of the thugs who did aggressive measures against the police and security forces.
