Iran Minister Urges Independent States To Decide On Basis Of National Interests

Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA – Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Shamseddin Hosseini said the independent countries should decide on the basis of their national interests. In a meeting with over 50 economic activists in Japan, Hosseini said Iran and Japan enjoy profound and historical relations, underlining the need for further expansion of all-out cooperation between the two nations. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the semiannual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) underway in Japan on October 11-13. Hosseini reiterated that Tehran has no restriction for expansion of economic relations with Tokyo. In related developments, the Iranian minister held talks with his Sri Lankan, Pakistani and Emirati counterparts on ways to widen bilateral trade exchanges./end
