Iran MP Suggests Formation Of Regional Parliament To Confront US Unilateralism

Moscow, Dec 12, IRNA -- Co-chairman of Iran-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group Mahdi Sanaei on Tuesday suggested formation of a regional parliament consisting Iran, China and Russia to confront US unilateralism. He made the remarks to two-day International Forum of Contemporary Parliamentarism and Future of Democracy in Moscow. Pointing to US unilateral policies and bullying at international arenas, Sanaei said expansion of Iran-Russia-China parliamentary cooperation especially in the framework of Shanghai Cooperation Organization can be effective to confront with US unilateralism and stop US interference in other regions. The proposal has been welcomed by the participants and some politicians especially the Russian State Duma Speaker Vladimir Platonev. On Syria crisis, Sanaei said that forming national reconciliation government through democratic process and free and fair election is the only way to settle the Syrian crisis and that foreign interference aggravates the situation./end
