Iran MP: Syria To Play Decisive Role In Region In Future

Tehran, April 17, IRNA – Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaˈeddin Boroujerdi here on Tuesday expressed confidence that Syria would play a decisive role in the region in the future, given its powerful position. Speaking to new Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmoud here, Boroujerdi said resistance and perseverance of the Syrian nation and government against pressures of the big powers would protect the country in the future against any covetous eye of the enemies. Emphasizing all-out support of the Iranian nation and government for the Syrian nation and leadership vis-a-vis any foreign plots, Boroujerdi hailed resistance of the Syrian nation and government against foreign terrorists and plots of the arrogant powers and said the Syrian nation and government would eventually emerge victorious in the face of current crisis and will not allow foreign conspiracies to harm the countryˈs national sovereignty and independence.
